Spring Construction is Underway!

March 29, 2003

Dan Mitchell, of MITCHELL LASER LEVELING, brought in one of his earth leveling tractors to begin grading on the circle track. The ground has dried out enough to begin construction again. The grading on the circle track will be refined through the spring and summer of 2003. Paving is tentatively scheduled for late 2003, early 2004.
DOUG MITTEN takes the earth mover for a spin.

On hand to go over blueprints and lay out elevation markers were Richard Staten, General Manager, Doug Mitten, Oval Track Director, and Dan Mitchell.

This view is from the south bank of the circle track. The new bleachers are visible in the background.

TESTING THE TRACK

As the one and only entry on March 29, 2003,...the superb driving team consisting of Richard Staten and Dan Mitchell took not only 1st place,.. but 2nd and 3rd place as well. The crowd of 3 cheered wildly as the Dodge 4x4 made one excellent run after another. Speeds were clocked in the excess of 65+ m.p.h. The trophy will be forthcoming as soon as the race committee can determine what they actually get a trophy for.
